Man Holding “Hire Me!”A lot of employers aren’t going to hold it against them because law firms overhired in 2021 and now there’s no work. Employers are pretty forgiving about that because it’s out of the control of the candidate.

— Julie Brush, Bay Area-based founder and CEO of Solutus Legal Search, in comments given to the American Lawyer, offering a bit of hope for the associates who were recently laid off from Cooley. She said though they may feel “demoralized,” hiring firms won’t necessarily hold it against them because they had no control over the situation.

Is Donald Trump hanging onto even more classified documents? Those who say don’t know, and those who know don’t say. Or perhaps more accurately, no one knows, and yet they’re all willing to say he’s clean as a whistle — just not under oath.

As of this writing, Trump’s lawyers are back in US District Court in DC explaining to Chief Judge Beryl Howell why nobody on Team Trump will step up to the plate to be custodian of his records. So weird how no one wants to say under penalty of perjury that Trump complied with the five-month-old subpoena and handed over all items bearing classified markings. It’s not like when Trump’s lawyers finally hired an outside firm to search, they found two more classified documents this week.

Oh, wait …

A three-judge arbitration panel in Tampa, Florida, has ordered UnitedHealthcare to pay $10.8 million to a TeamHealth clinician group for underpayments from 2017 until 2020.

Based in Knoxville, TeamHealth employs more than 15,000 affiliated healthcare professionals and advanced practice clinicians in a variety of care, including emergency medicine, hospital medicine, critical care, anesthesiology, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, obstetrics, acute behavioral health, post-acute care, post-acute behavioral health and ambulatory care.

“United persists in exploiting vulnerable patients and refuses to adequately pay providers, despite having faced sanctions, jury awards, and settlement payments of some half a billion dollars,” said Dr. Jay Mesrobian, TeamHealth National Medical Director and Chief Clinical Officer in a news release.

According to the news release, the panel found that UnitedHealthcare (UHC) had paid TeamHealth physicians 30% of what they were owed as “fair payment” for their care.

The lawsuit is one of nine cases throughout the country that

This morning sentient shitpost Alex Jones filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Houston, citing the $1.5 billion in jury awards to families harmed by his lies about Sandy Hook as his biggest debts. The move marks the third time this year that the rightwing media figure sought the protection of the bankruptcy court, making him a well known quantity to US Bankruptcy Judge Christopher Lopez, who had the misfortune of landing all three of these cases.

In the first episode of this drama, Jones placed three worthless shell companies in bankruptcy on the eve of his trials in Connecticut and Texas, successfully postponing the day of reckoning, albeit only for a period of weeks. The move was widely seen as a bad faith abuse of the court to gain litigation advantage, as Jones sought to buy
